District Track & Field

The boys and girls track & field teams will travel to Oak Harbor High School for their district meet. On Wednesday, field events begin at 4:00 and running events start at 5:00. The other finals are on Friday. Field events start at 4:00 with running finals at 5:30. The top 4 in each event qualify for the regional meet at Lexington.

Beauty and the Beast

There are more Beauty and the Beast DVDs available for purchase in the office. The cost is $5 for anyone interested.

Volleyball

Summer Team Camp money is due by May 31st. Directions for registering are in the summer packet that was passed out in April. The office has copies if you need one.

Bowling

Any student interested in bowling next school year, There will be a meeting during AA, in the study hall on Monday 24th. Please up in advance to attend. The sign up is in the office.

Girls Track & Field

Congratulations to the team for winning the NBC Championship! The team scored 176 points which was 67 points more than the second place. Winning championships for the Eagles included: Elise Wolff in the pole vault and 100 m hurdles, Aricka LaVoy in the long jump, the 4x100 m relay of Reagan Boice, LaVoy, Maddie Jackson, and Hannah Firsdon and the 4x400 m relay consisting of LaVoy, Kortni Montag, Aly Decker, and Jackson. Maddie Jackson was voted the NBC Athlete of the Year and Aricka LaVoy was voted NBC Athlete of the meet by the conference coaches.

Boys Track & Field

The team won the NBC meet this weekend. Isaiah Conkle was the running meet MVP. Devin Snowden was voted Athlete of the Year!! Meet records were set by: 4x800: Tim Hoodlebrink, randy Caris, Noah Smith, Gabe Fredericks; 4x100: Isaiah Conkle, Devin Snowden, Brennan Seifert, Steve Bruning; 4x400: Gabe Fredericks, Joe Salinas, Derrick Snowden, Devin Snowden; Conkle 100; Devin Snowden 300 hurdles; Isaiah Conkle also won the 200 and Blake Kohring won the 110 hurdles.

Guidance

Seniors, if you received any additional scholarships since you turned in your form to your counselor--lease tell your counselor the scholarship names. All scholarships will be read at graduation ceremony.

District competition begins this week! The meet is at Oak Harbor H.S. and begins Wednesday and finishes on Friday.

District Track

Eastwood will be hosting the Division III district Track and Field Meet this season on Thursday, May 23 and Saturday, May 25 and we are in need of students to help work the field events. If you are a track athlete who is not competing in Districts at Oak Harbor that week, and you are interested in working both days, please see Mr. Fahim to sign up by Friday, May 10. Students working the meet will be paid for their services.

Concession Stand Sign Up

Once again, Ms. Eaton is in charge of assignment of concession stand workers. We are asking that parents, relatives and friends to consider helping work a in the concession stand. The funds rasied by the concession stand benefit many athletic programs and athletes. Please check the sign up schedule by clicking Concession Stand Sign Up. Free & Reduced Lunch

Eastwood is providing the free and reduced lunch form for download. If circumstances have occured where you feel you may be elgible for this service, download and print out the form. Fill in all the necessary information and return it to the board office or the building office where your child attends school. LUNCH FORM

The Eastwood Educational Foundation has streamlined the scholarship process for local and foundation scholarships. Due to their diligence, students can now apply on line for many of the scholarships. Athletic Department Physicals

Eastwood Athletic Department is again offering an evening for our athletes to come and have their physical completed at the High School. This will be held on May 28, 2013. Student-athletes who have ball games will have physicals from 6:30-7:15; 7th, 8th and 9th grade student-athletes 7:15 -8:15pm; and 10th, 11th, and 12th grade student-athletes from 8:15 -9:00pm. This is a service offered to our families to help them obtain their athletic physicals and be ready for the fall sporting season. The cost for the physical is $25. Forms are always available in the window outside the high school office and in the middle school office. Please be sure that all sections of the physical and the Athletic Emergency Medical Form are properly completed and signed prior to attending that evening. The OHSAA Physical Evaluation must have the History Form and Authorization Form (both sides) completed and signed by both the parent and athlete prior to the physical exam. The Athletic Emergency Medical Form, which is part of the physical packet, is also required for participation. As you plan to get your student/athlete physicals done, please consider this convenient service and put it on your calendar.

Dance Team

Dance Team tryouts for next year will be on Monday, May 20th, Tuesday, May 21st, and Wednesday, May 22nd from 2:30 to 4:00 in the HS auditorium. Please pick up an information packet in the office if you are interested in trying out!
